Walking Safaris in Tanzania

Increasingly, many of our guests are looking for opportunities to explore aspects of Tanzania from outside of the safari vehicle. It is possible to organise short walking safaris whilst inside Manyara, Tarangire and Arusha National Parks. The aim of being on foot is to feel connected with your environment without the noise and barrier of your safari vehicle. You will be quiet as you wander through the bush and will focus on smaller things such as birds, insects, plants, and animal tracks. There is always a chance that you will meet larger animals on your walk and for this reason, you will be accompanied by an armed ranger. Getting up close and personal with wildlife is definitely a rush of excitement and this activity can enrich your safari experience with Lion King.

Quick facts:

Length of walk: around two hours
Level of fitness required: moderate
Safety: You will be accompanied by an armed ranger, provided by TANAPA (Tanzania National Park Authority)
What should I wear: Long trousers and t-shirt or shirt in classic safari colours (khaki, beige, green), hat to protect you from the sun and sturdy, closed shoes suitable for walking
